Kumasi Asante Kotoko has confirmed that two Sudanese nationals players, Esmat AbdalHamid Mohamed and Obdoelkarem Yoouef Yagoub, are currently missing from the camp at the USA.
Kotoko was scheduled to play in the Capital City Africa Cup against DC United on Saturday, 12th October 2024 at the Audi Field in Washington, D.C.
But report suggests that the two players left the team’s hotel room and they are no where to be found.
The Premier League Giants in a statement said they are regretted about the incident.
“Asante Kotoko SC regrets to inform our supporters and the public that two players, Esmat AbdalHamid Mohamed and Obdoelkarem Yoouef Yagoub, both Sudanese nationals, are currently missing from the camp.” The club said.
They explained that the players left the team’s hotel without permission on Friday, 11th October 2024, and all efforts to contact or locate them have been unsuccessful.
Adding that the law enforcement authorities in the United States has been notified to ensure that they return safely.

The Porcupine Warrior therefore urged the supporters and the general public to remain calm as the authorities are working hard to ensure their safety.
“We urge our supporters to remain calm as we work with the relevant authorities.” The club said.
The Capital City Africa Cup is part of the activities celebrating Ghana Week DC 2024, which runs from October 7 to 12.
