Kim Porter’s father, Jake Porter, recently shared his candid reaction upon viewing the hotel surveillance video depicting Sean “Diddy” Combs assaulting his ex-partner, Cassie Ventura.
In an interview with Rolling Stone on Friday, June 7, the 78-year-old expressed his strong disapproval of the video. “You can say I was disgusted with the video, and I wouldn’t treat my enemy like that,”
Jake remarked. “It was despicable. I couldn’t believe it. I was in Vietnam, and I wouldn’t do that to my enemy.”
When asked if he had witnessed Combs physically abuse his daughter Kim during their relationship, Jake replied in the negative. However, he acknowledged that the extent of the behavior seen in the video made him question if there were things he hadn’t seen.
Kim Porter and Combs had an on-and-off relationship from 1994 to 2007 and shared three children: their son King, aged 26, and twin daughters D’Lila and Jessie, aged 17. Kim tragically passed away at the age of 47 in 2018 due to lobar pneumonia.
Jake also disclosed that he had either lived with or near his daughter during her relationship with Combs. The distressing video involving Ventura, aged 37, has profoundly affected Jake’s perception of Diddy.

“It has given me a different outlook on him,” Jake shared. “I didn’t know he could stoop that low. I imagine it surprised a lot of people. I wouldn’t even do a dog like that. My heart goes out to Cassie.”
The revelations have stirred significant public discussion, highlighting the complexities and emotional impacts surrounding the relationships involving Diddy and those close to him.
