Manchester City is closing in on the Premier League title

Manchester City clinched a commanding 2-0 victory against Tottenham in a thrilling match on Tuesday, further bolstering their bid for a fourth consecutive Premier League title.

A win against West Ham this Sunday will secure the championship.

Arsenal had pinned their hopes on Tottenham either defeating City or at least securing a draw, but those aspirations were dashed.

The first half concluded with no goals, but the intensity escalated shortly into the second half when City broke the deadlock. Erling Haaland capitalized on space in the box, receiving a precise pass from Kevin De Bruyne and driving the ball into the net, giving City a crucial 1-0 lead.

Earlier, Phil Foden had aimed for the left side of the goal, only to be denied by the goalkeeper.

In the 47th minute, De Bruyne came close to scoring with a shot from the edge of the box, but an exceptional save by Guglielmo Vicario thwarted the attempt.

Two minutes later, Heung-Min Son received a perfect pass deep in the box and unleashed a low shot, yet the goalkeeper pulled off an excellent save.

In the 74th minute, Dejan Kulusevski found himself with a golden opportunity inside the six-yard box, but Stefan Ortega produced a stunning save to deny him.

In the 87th minute, Heung-Min Son skillfully maneuvered through the defense and faced the keeper one-on-one but couldn’t convert.

City sealed their victory with a second goal in stoppage time, Haaland confidently converting a penalty to the left side of the goal, outfoxing Guglielmo Vicario.

City will wrap up their season at home against West Ham on Sunday, where they are poised to clinch yet another championship title.
