With recent updates, TikTok is helping teenagers limit their screen time. Parental controls have been included as part of TikTok’s efforts to offer a positive online experience.
The additional personalized options will help users express themselves in a positive way.
In an effort to enhance user experience, TikTok advises users to restrict their screen time. The business announced that TikTok will now set the daily screen time cap for customers under the age of 18 at 60 minutes in response to the Digital Wellbeing Lab’s results.
The application requires users to input a passcode each time they want to use it for longer than 60 minutes.
In an effort to strengthen families and ensure user safety, TikTok has added three new components to the Family Pairing tool.
1. Custom daily screen time limits
Teenagers’ daily screen time limits can be modified by parents and other adults who care for them. A separate time limit can be established for every day. Families will be able to choose the timings by paying attention to the holidays, family trips, and school schedules.
2. Screen time dashboard
The dashboard will include summaries of the amount of time spent on TikTok and the frequency of app openings. A breakdown of the overall time spent during the day and night is also provided for parents.

3. Mute notifications
By establishing a schedule with the aid of this tool, parents can choose to disable notifications for their teenagers. Users between the ages of 13 and 15 won’t receive notifications after 9:00 p.m. with the new upgrade. Similar to this, accounts with users between the ages of 16 and 17 have their push notifications stopped starting at 10:00 pm.
“Moreover, TikTok is introducing a sleep reminder so users may prepare better for getting offline at night. At the predetermined time, a pop-up will appear to remind users to log out of the program “A sentence was read.
“TikTok has collaborated with talented video producers and industry professionals to inform parents and kids about the new features. The in-app assistance is crucial for educating consumers about the Family Pairing function and other recent additions.”
During the past few months, TikTok has developed a number of features and enhancements that make using the app safer and enable parents to teach their teens about using technology responsibly.
The short-video platform asserts that by prioritizing family requirements, it has enhanced parental controls, expanded policy transparency, created the Safety Centre, and forged advantageous partnerships with several safety organizations.
