Tory Lanez’s wife Raina Nancy Chassagne has filed for divorce from Tory Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Shemuel Shua Peterson, nearly one year after tying the knot.

According to court documents obtained by People on Monday, June 10, the wife of the disgraced hip-hop star mentioned the date of marriage as June 25, 2023, while the date of separation has been listed as June 1, 2024.

The reason for their divorce has been cited as irreconcilable differences. Moreover, Chassagne is seeking the legal and physical custody of the estranged couple’s seven-year-old son, Kai’lon Peterson.

For the unversed, Lanez is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence for shooting Megan Thee Stallion. He opened fire on the feet of the songstress, whose real name is Megan Pete, in the summer of 2020 in the Hollywood Hills.

Following the high-profile incident, Los Angeles County District Attorney Geroge Gascon issued a statement last August regarding the 31-year-old rapper’s prison sentence.

“Over the past three years, Mr. Peterson has engaged in a pattern of conduct that was intended to intimidate Ms. Pete and silence her truths from being heard,” they said and praised Stallion for her bravery in reliving the trauma during case proceedings.

The shooting incident occurred after a dispute between Lanez, Stallion, her former assistant and ex-friend Kelsey Harris.

Following the heated argument, they left Kylie Jenner’s pool party at her Los Angeles home on July 12, 2020.
