Wesley Snipes recently poked fun at the ongoing delays facing the Blade reboot, questioning if the film will ever see the light of day.
Taking to social media over the weekend, the actor reacted to news of director Yann Demange stepping away from the Marvel Cinematic Universe project, which stars Mahershala Ali as the half-human, half-vampire protagonist.
“Blade, lordylordylordy folks still lookin for the secret sauce, ridin snowmobiles in traffic, kinda rough,” Snipes humorously commented on X (formerly Twitter), marking 25 years since he originally played the iconic role. “Daywalkers make it look easy, don’t they?”
Snipes, who first portrayed Blade in 1998’s Blade and returned for Blade II (2002) and Blade: Trinity (2004), highlighted the character’s enduring appeal. The role was also briefly taken up by rapper Sticky Fingaz in a 2006 Spike series adaptation.

Blade, originally introduced in Marvel’s The Tomb of Dracula in 1973, has faced setbacks with Demange’s departure, potentially pushing back its planned premiere on November 7, 2025, as reported by Deadline.
Snipes’ playful social media post underscores his enduring connection to the Blade franchise and the anticipation surrounding its cinematic revival.
