Raina Nancy Chassagne, the wife of hip-hop artist Tory Lanez (real name Daystar Shemuel Shua Peterson), has initiated divorce proceedings nearly one year after their marriage.
According to court documents obtained by People on Monday, June 10, Chassagne cited irreconcilable differences, listing the date of marriage as June 25, 2023, and the date of separation as June 1, 2024.
Chassagne is seeking legal and physical custody of their seven-year-old son, Kai’lon Peterson.
Tory Lanez is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence for the 2020 shooting incident involving Megan Thee Stallion (real name Megan Pete).
The incident occurred in the Hollywood Hills, where Lanez fired at Stallion’s feet. Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascon commented last August on Lanez’s sentence, citing a pattern of intimidating behavior towards Stallion.
The altercation took place following a dispute involving Lanez, Stallion, her former assistant, and ex-friend Kelsey Harris, after they left Kylie Jenner’s pool party in Los Angeles on July 12, 2020.
