Apple has officially rolled out its iOS 18 Developer Beta 2 for testing, introducing several new features not included in the previous beta release.
Initially unveiled at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2024 on June 10, iOS 18 was first made available to registered developers through iOS 18 Developer Beta 1, according to a report from Gadgets 360.
The initial beta version introduced various enhancements to the iPhone, such as the option to hide app, folder, and widget names from the home screen, and the ability to enable dark mode for first-party app icons.
The latest beta version from Apple brings a significant addition: iPhone mirroring. This feature enables users to mirror their iPhone onto their Mac, allowing them to manage apps, receive calls and notifications, and seamlessly drag and drop files between the two devices. However, this functionality requires both the iPhone and Mac to be running macOS Sequoia beta 2.
Additionally, Beta 2 introduces a new toggle for Rich Communication Services (RCS) messaging within iPhone settings. RCS functions similarly to iMessage, indicating when someone is typing, has read a message, or received it. This update is currently available exclusively in the United States.

Other notable enhancements in Beta 2 include a new dark-themed icon for the App Store, a widget for connected cards in the Wallet app, a convenient “+” icon in the Passwords app for quickly saving new entries, and improved feedback options for the power button in the Control Center.
Apple continues to refine iOS 18 with these updates, aiming to provide developers and users alike with a more robust and efficient mobile experience.
